Close Up Detail - see a section of the image at actual size

This one was done mainly using the Chalk tool, which acts very much like pastel. If it is used lightly the paper grain shows through, but you can add more pressure to hide the grain. You can see how this works in the detail shot (the painting was created at 2250x3000 pixels)

I actually used a canvas texture for the paper settings for this image. The 'background grass' was put in quickly using the paint roller followed by the glitter tool. The glitter tool can provide some nice texture effects if you play around with the settings
