These images
were rendered using Bryce, though most of them contain models created
in other 3d applications, as Bryce does not have many of the modelling
tools found in other programs, but it has a beautiful renderer. Check

Over the last few years I have obtained Bryce 2, Bryce 3D
and Bryce 4 from magazine cover CD's. Great way to get software.
I actually have about a dozen commercial 3D programs. All from
cover CD's
Because 3D work is basically just a hobby, then I can't really
justify the price of just one of these programs, never mind what
it would cost to buy all of them.
