Another image from my initial experiments with Cinema 4D. This is also a work in progress, as the toadstools are still to be fitted with doors and windows, for the pixies of course. I do have four grandchildren, so these sorts of images are very popular with them.

The plants in the background and the foreground grasses were created using Plant Studio 2, these were then exported as 3DS models and loaded into Cinema 4D

Everything else was created in Cinema 4D. The toadstools themselves turned out to be very easy, once I figured out the best way to do it. I had been experimenting with Lathing and Lofting without too much success, the toadstools didn't look organic enough.

I noticed that there was a magnet tool available, so I loaded up the PDF manual to see what the tool was for and how to use it. (When all else fails read the manual, or as you get told if you post a dumb question to a forum RTFM !!!!

Anyway after a little experimentation, this tool turned out to be just what was required. It allows you to pull and stretch points on the model, to get the shape that you want. You can adjust how much the nearby points are affected, and with a bit of practice it is really useful.

The stalk and cap for each toadstool started life as simple spheres, which were manipulated into the right shape with the magnet tool. The tree trunk was done in the same way.
