Well, all of the links on the left hand menu now lead somewhere,
although a few of them lead to some pretty sparse pages at the moment.
We've Moved
Most of the time during the last few days has been taken up with
moving the site to a new server. So if you bookmarked any of the
individual pages on the old site, they will still work for now,
but those pages wont be updated, http://beam.to/aif now points to
the new site, but there is now a better way to get to the site (see
below)
We have gone dotty
Yes, Alan's Image Factory now has a dot com address, you can find
us at www.aifweb.com - this will make it easy for you to find us
no matter where our server is located.
3D Headings
Do you need some 3D headings for your web site, or to brighten up
that report that you are creating?. Well you can create them right
here, just jump to the Web
Design Page and follow the link.

I have just come across what appears to be a great graphics program
which has a lot of useful features and a terrific price - it's free!
It is called Pixia and here are the basic specifications
according to the read me file provided with the program
Pixia is a painting tool made exclusively for full colour
graphics.
Maximum graphic size:
10240 x 10240 dots (Note: this depends on RAM capacity.)
Number of Layers:
As many as memory allows
Peripheral devices supported:
TWAIN32 devices.
Printers made to suit Microsoft Windows
Tablets (Wacom, Oce-Japan)
I have only had a quick look at it but as I experiment more I will
let you know my findings. The program originated in Japan but has
been converted to other languages by keen fans. Grab a copy now
from the English
Pixia Site. There you will also find links to other Pixia sites,
with galleries and lessons on using the program.
I found Pixia at freewarehome.com
This site often has programs listed that don't appear on other freeware
sites, so it is well worth checking out.

Decided to ditch the old site (see sidebar) and start again. The
old site was too heavy with graphics and was rather slow to download.
Hopefully this site will be leaner and meaner and will reduce the
download times.
Of course, a site that is basically about graphics and multimedia
needs to have pictures and animation's, but now these will be kept
to a minimum on the general pages.
Most of the graphics will now be on the gallery thumbnail pages,
with links to larger images. This will let you decide if you want
to wait to see a larger image. What I am planning to do, unless
I forget, is display the file size with each thumbnail, which should
give you an idea of how long you will need to wait.
Because I have decided to completely revamp the whole site, it
may be a while before all of the links are in place and all of the
pages have any more than the briefest of content - please bear with
me
Maroochydore ??
A few people have asked where the heck is Maroochydore?
It is located on The Sunshine Coast in sunny Queensland, Australia. To
find out more have a look at The
Sunshine Coast tourist information web page.
Site Revamp
Actually, many of you will have never seen my old site, as it was only
intended for students undertaking my multimedia classes at Maroochydore
TAFE. However some of my students have persuaded me to make this available
more widely. I think that their logic is "Why should we be the only
ones to suffer?"
So once I have finished a few pages, I will submit it to the search engines,
and inflict it on the general public.
