I have just noticed that the search engines are directing queries
about advice on the above question to this archive page. This page
only refers to an advert that was letting my students know that
a local store had a special price. Not much use to you now.
I have added a little bit more information to the web design pages,
not much though. At the moment I am busy playing with 3D modelling
software. If you are into 3d modelling, then make sure that you
check out the cover CD's on the magazines in your local newsagent.
In the last week or two I have picked up Cinema 4D version 5SE,
Poser 3 and Amapi 3D version 5.1. Most of the time these programs
appear to do the rounds of the magazines, appearing on various mag's
at different times. So if you miss one, you may pick it up on a
different magazine.

Enrolment for semester 2 now open
Students may now enrol in the Animation and 3D Modelling courses.
The days and times are shown below.
These are both complex subjects so you will need to attend both
sessions each week.
Wednesday night 6.00 - 9.-00
Saturday morning 9.00 - 12.00
These modules usually fill up very quickly, so don't delay
Remember you will need to attend both sessions
Apology for site inactivity
Sorry about the delay in updating the site. It came about due to
a major upgrade to my computer, combined with a decision to strip
the hard drives and reinstall everything from scratch.
According to the plan, it should have taken 24 - 48 hours. Well
you know what they say about the best laid plans etc. etc.
I won't bore you with all the details, like the supplier not mentioning
when taking the order, that they would be out of stock of DDR RAM
for 3 days, or the BIOS on the new motherboard reporting faulty
memory, when it was really a faulty motherboard. Or a public holiday
adding another days delay to the delivery.
The biggest mistake was mine, in assuming that I would receive
working parts on the day that they were promised and removing all
of the software from the computer, to speed up the changeover!
Anyway, everything is working fine now, so the only delays in updating
the site will be the usual ones, caused by my preference for creating
images, rather than creating web pages.
Anyway, gotta go now. I've so far only installed Windows and Dreamweaver,
so I'll be spending the rest of the day installing software.
Added a news feed to the 3D modelling page.
Keep up with all the new happenings in the world of 3D
April 20, 2002
New Gallery Added I have just added a gallery to showcase some of the images that
I have created with the Blender 3D modelling program. Hope you like
it
April 19, 2002
I have spent most of the day tidying up
the site and working on the galleries, so there are a few new images
to be seen there now.
April 18, 2002
This page was getting rather large as more and more items were
added to the top of the page. To fix this I have decided to archive
the news pages. This means that this page will now load quickly
again.
The previous news items are still available through the links at
the bottom of this page. I have done the same thing to the Multimedia
Courses page as this was starting to suffer from the same problem
All of the archive pages will be available as long as they are
being accessed. If any of the archives don't get visited for over
a month then I will remove them from the server.
I am planning to move any of the external links that I have given
you on these pages to a General Links Page. So the links will still
be available even if the original pages disappear.
April 15, 2002
I have finally made a start on expanding the image galleries. I
have added a link for an Expressions page, and have added a few
images to it.
I have decided to group the images by the software used to create
them, as I tend to work with one program for a while and then, when
I get bored I move onto another program.
Actually I have spent the last week or two working with Painter,
so I will start a Painter gallery next.
I have just added the Gallery for Painter images, together with
a couple of new images created with this software.
Bargain Price Graphics Tablet From Dick Smith Electronics
If you have attended any of my classes, then you will know that
I keep on saying that a mouse is not the best tool for working with
graphics programs. I have always told you that a graphics tablet
makes things far easier.
Well here is your chance to grab one at a really good price. You
can save $50 if you jump in before 1st May 2002.
If you don't have the ready cash, you can
lay by items at Dick Smiths Stores.
Note: This is
the same graphics tablet that I use on my computer at home
Sorry about the delay in updating the web site, but to be honest,
I don't find creating web pages as interesting as creating images.
So the web site tends to get put at the bottom of the to do list.
Maroochydore ??
A few people have asked where the heck is Maroochydore?
It is located on The Sunshine Coast in sunny Queensland, Australia. To
find out more have a look at The
Sunshine Coast tourist information web page.
Site Revamp
Actually, many of you will have never seen my old site, as it was only
intended for students undertaking my multimedia classes at Maroochydore
TAFE. However some of my students have persuaded me to make this available
more widely. I think that their logic is "Why should we be the only
ones to suffer?"
So once I have finished a few pages, I will submit it to the search engines,
and inflict it on the general public.
